Odyssée Canada's methodology and sources
Odyssée Canada is an independent information site on immigration and studies in Canada and France. This page explains how we work, where the information comes from, what we do not do and how to report an error.
Our position
We are neither a government body nor an immigration consulting firm. We do not process any immigration file and we guarantee no result. Our content is informational and replaces neither the official pages nor the advice of a regulated consultant or a lawyer.
Where the information comes from
Every rule, amount or date presented in a guide, calculator or orientation tool comes from an official source: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the Government of Quebec (quebec.ca, Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration), Campus France and Campus France Morocco, Parcoursup, Service-Public and educational institutions' pages.
Blogs, forums and social networks are never used as the source of a figure or rule. When two sources diverge, we keep the most direct official source and flag the divergence in the guide.
Verification dates and updates
Each guide ends with the list of official pages consulted and the consultation date. Orientation tools display each entry's verification date. Calculators indicate the grid or rule used and its effective date: the Express Entry calculator, for example, automatically applies the IRCC rules in force on the current date.
Immigration rules change often. A page can become inaccurate between two updates: always check the official source cited before acting.
When information is not published
If an official page does not specify a point (a deadline, an amount, a validity period), we say so rather than guess. In orientation tools, a program whose conditions are not published is classed “to be checked” with only the official link.
How our tools are built
The Express Entry (CRS) and PSTQ calculators reproduce the official grids, with their point caps, and display the detail of the rules applied. They give an indicative estimate: they do not predict an invitation and do not replace the review of your file by IRCC or the Quebec ministry.
The orientation tools for studies in Canada and France apply simple, public rules (level of study, field, entry route) to the conditions published by each institution or by Campus France Morocco. They suggest leads to check, not a decision.
Advertising and personal data
This site displays advertising and measures its audience with third-party services. Advertising does not determine the content of the guides, which follows official sources. We never sell your personal data. A connection with a regulated immigration consultant takes place only with your explicit consent. Details are in the privacy policy.
What we do not do
We promise no admission, visa, permit or selection. We never ask for payment to obtain an official document. We do not rank countries or institutions by quality. We do not judge your personal file.
Reporting an error
If you notice an inaccurate or outdated piece of information, write to us with the page, the passage concerned and the link to the official source. We check and correct.
