Study Permit
The study permit allows candidates to pursue post-secondary studies at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada. It paves the way to a post-graduation work permit and, eventually, to several economic immigration programs through the Canadian Experience Class.
Main conditions
- ✓Have been accepted at a designated learning institution recognized by a province or territory
- ✓Prove sufficient funds to cover tuition and living expenses
- ✓Demonstrate intent to leave Canada at the end of studies, unless a transition to a work permit or permanent residence is planned
- ✓Be medically and security admissible
- ✓For certain countries, provide additional documents under the Student Direct Stream (SDS)
