A reopening with a limited window

The PEQ is reopened from July 2, 2026 to July 2, 2028, but a permanent selection application can only be received from July 2 to October 31, 2026. There is no cap on the number of applications received during this period, but the window itself closes on October 31: beyond that, no new reception period has been announced.

Temporary foreign workers stream

This stream is for people legally in Quebec as a temporary foreign worker or a youth exchange program participant. You must show at least 2 years of full-time work experience in a TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 occupation, acquired by November 19, 2025, including at least 24 of the last 36 months, and hold such a job at the time of application.

Quebec graduates stream

This stream is for people who obtained, in Quebec and by November 19, 2025, a bachelor's, master's, doctorate, technical DEC, or a DEP of at least 1,800 hours (alone or followed by an ASP). The diploma must have been obtained within the 36 months before the application, in a full-time program, with a stay in Quebec covering at least half of the program.

French, a requirement for both streams

Both streams require oral French at level 7 on the Quebec Scale. The graduates stream also requires written level 5. An accompanying spouse must show oral level 4, except for workers covered by the transitional measure predating July 22, 2020.

Check your eligibility before applying

Some conditions are counted down to the day, especially work experience duration. Our PEQ calculator automatically works out these durations from your employment dates and shows which conditions are met, need checking, or are not met, without replacing the ministry's review.
